The first semi-final at World e-Sports Masters in Hangzhou, China has ended – mTw dominate fnatic.
A Scandinavia clash was on the board this morning when mTw and fnatic faced each other in the first semi-final at World e-Sports Masters. The Danes had yesterday eliminated fnatic’s countrymen from SK Gaming, with a rock solid victory on train. Now fnatic had to try their luck with the Danes on train, being the first map. With a won coin toss, mTw picked the CT side. Leading force on the CT side was Sunde, carrying his team to eliminate fnatic members over and over again, and put a stop to their entry towards the bombspots. The Danes secure a very confident 14:1 halftime score as CT on train. The Swedes took the all important pistol-round, which mTw had been struggling winning for so long now. In the fourth round, mTw managed to win the round securing them at least a tie. fnatic did however continue gathering rounds, but in the 10th round, mTw got the last round they needed to win train with a 16:9 score.
Moving on to the second map, being inferno, a map that mTw had dominated just any team earlier this year. The red and white colored should start as attackers, while the blue and the yellow should try their luck as defenders. The attacking force from mTw ran through the fnatic defense over and over again, fnatic really seemed to have suffered from the crushing blow on the first map. The first half went to mTw with a 12:3 score. As CT, mTw could secure their third pistol round victory in the match. The Swedes gained some momentum with a helping hand from f0rest in some clutch situations. A one-man-army could however not stop mTw from going all the way and getting the four rounds they needed to win 16:6 on inferno.
